2012 Sahuaro Lake Fish Habitat

This project helped fund the placement of “fish furniture” fish habitat structures in Saguaro Lake. AZSFWC funded construction of the molds for the structures, and then donated the molds to the AZ Game & Fish Department for creation of the structures. These structures are a unique concrete structure made from approximately .50 yards of concrete per ball and use environmentally safe ingredients that will not negatively affect the water quality. The structures create a hollow sphere with numerous sized holes creating great fish habitat. Clustered together these structures develop a great ecosystem community of habitat. These structures have been used in many of the United States premier bass fishing lakes from Florida to Texas. They are stated to have a life of over 500 years.
