Feral burros are wreaking havoc across Arizona’s desert ecosystems. The BLM has plans in place to manage burros, however, they are not adequately implementing these plans.
One such plan is the Black Mountain Ecoystem Management Plan and Environmental Assessment from April 1996 (see it Here). Burro numbers have now exceeded over 400% of the designated population outlined in this plan. Click here to read more about this issue from Kingman Daily Miner writer Don Martin.

In January of 2016 the AZGF Commission passed a Resolution emploring the Federal government meet their obligations to control burros. Read it HERE.
